Mould

Mould

Mould can be a very serious problem that can be harmful to health. Mould contains spores that can be harmful if breathed in, it is therefore essential that mould is treated and removed from the property as soon as is possible.

Mould loves warm and damp conditions and if left untreated it will flourish in these conditions.

  • Never try and treat the mould with Bleach as this will not work.
  • If wallpaper is affected with mould it should be removed from the wall, before treating the wall with a suitable fungicide.
  • Paint affected by mould can be washed with warm soapy water and then treated with a proprietary fungicide.

When doing any home repair work it makes sense to take precautions to prevent the mould in the first place. When wallpapering ensure that a wallpaper paste is used that includes a fungicide. Also use waterproof tile grout in wet areas, preferably one containing micro ban.
