Weekend Gardening

Make your garden hassle free

Gardening can be fun, it can be relaxing but it can also be time consuming, especially so, if it requires a lot of maintenance. It is best to create a garden that is designed to take care of itself. This article will help you understand how you can do this and more importantly, it helps you take the first step.

There are some common mistakes that you can do and you will end up with a garden that requires your constant attention and never-ending work. In order to avoid these mistakes, you have to begin to examine critically how you maintain your garden and yard.

You can begin by walking all about in your property. Then note the amount of time you need to tend the different areas.

You can ask yourself questions like, are there any plants that need immediate care or are there any areas that you enjoy a lot and that do not need so much care? Try to visualise areas that can be reduced in size. Think about any problem areas in your garden, where the weeds might be the thickest or where it is difficult to mow your lawn,

Keep a notebook handy with you so that you can note down any critical comments or ideas that might come to your mind. You can take note of what you are observing, of the possibilities and the problems.

When you are done with this, you can take into account what you do not like to do in terms of gardening work. You might hate mowing your lawn, or weeding or something else. Whatever it is, accept it and try to get rid of that activity.

Thus, when you are walking around, taking notes around your property, note down which areas require work. In addition to that, note down what you are feeling about doing that work and which ones will require more time.

When you are finished making your list, you can put a tick mark against all those things that you want to keep in spite of all the time or energy they might require. After that, put question marks against those things that although you like to look at require a lot of work.

Now, you can plan to remove all those things that you have left unmarked. You can use low maintenance methods in order to convert these problem areas into pleasure areas. Whatever you do, you will first need to spot the problem areas before you can do something about it. Thus, take this important first step towards making your garden hassle free.
